An Ode to Linux

Linux,

We had a great time. I managed to learn so much about programming, wasted so much time nailing your specifics, and you gave me thousands of projects to try.

It was so easy to setup my environments. I just had to run sudo -rm rf, and you would do it! Not like windows, where a thousands ‘protections’ prevent me from running a simple script to swap crtl and caps-lock.

You always came at me with updates I wanted, without ads in the start menu and no ai, none of the stuff that makes windows horrible like ‘outlook’ and ‘save to onedrive by default’. I loved being part of a community so eager to support you!

Unfortunately though, business school needs excel, and you make it REALLY tough to run it as well as the hundreds of other programs I’ll need. I don’t plan to make the same mistake I made in undergrad, and make the switch before classes start.

I hope you’ll become my main OS one day, but for now, I’m probably only going to use you on my raspberry pi.
