Yesterday morning, I rowed for the last time on the Charles river as I move my home to Manhattan.
I am incredibly proud to share that I will be joining the NYU Stern School of Business Full-time MBA Class of 2028!
For the last few years, I have spent a great deal of time reflecting on where I wanted my career to take me. I began by believing that my place was in academic biology. When I slowly realized that it was not where I truly wanted to remain, I found myself afloat, no longer anchored to the path I had once imagined. So, when the Stern application asked me to complete the phrase “Change: ____ it,” the word that came to me was “steer.”
That journey has brought plenty of twists and turns. I left the lab, traveled back and forth across the Atlantic, worked in technical sales and biotech automation, and, with some intentional cringe to embarrass her, met my wonderful partner. Each experience helped me better understand the work I want to pursue and the kind of impact I hope to have.
Now, my next adventure takes me to Greenwich Village and the Leonard N. Stern School of Business. At Stern, I hope to learn how to bridge the distance between scientific discovery and real-world adoption, helping promising technologies move beyond the laboratory and into the lives of the people they are meant to serve.
I am deeply grateful to the family members, friends, mentors, colleagues, and generous strangers who shared their time, advice, and encouragement along the way. Many of you helped me find my footing when the path ahead was uncertain, and I would not be here without you.
So many people were generous with me when I was trying to find my way, and I would be honored to pass that kindness forward. If any future Stern applicant would find my experience helpful, please do not hesitate to reach out. I would genuinely be happy to speak with you!
Here is to learning how to steer what comes next!
